Project info:
Talk about 1980’s!!!! The original kitchen to this beautiful home in the outskirts of town, had a faded white thermo-foil door style and was separate from the family table and living area. Ceiling-hung cabinets over a peninsula with no overhang for seating made this an inefficient and boxed-in space isolated from the families daily activities. A small, cramped pantry closet and many walls and doorways took up some highly usable and functional space.

We opened it up by eliminating the peninsula, pantry closet and walls separating the dining room and front hall to create a very spacious and welcoming kitchen that caters to the “open concept” in modern living.
A straight island with seating on the back and plenty of drawers and pantry cabinets with a separate microwave/oven and cooktop brings the kitchen and family together. Children can do their homework and eat their snacks right on the island while mom and dad make preparations for the family meal to be enjoyed in the everyday eating area off to the side and open to the windows framing a beautifully wooded back yard.
